Welcome to
Landlords
We would like to welcome all landlords to the Rensselaer Union Off Campus
Housing website! From this site, you have the ability to add and
maintain your listings in real time.
In order to access your listings, you must log in using the form at the
right. If this is your
first visit to the new system, we ask that you create a new account. This process takes
less than five minutes and only has to be done once. For more
information, please read on below.
What is this site?
The Off Campus Housing site is a student service that connects landlords
with prospective tenants. Landlords post their listings, and they
immediately become available for students and faculty to search.
This site also provides a wide range of information to tenants and
landlords regarding property rental tips, rights, and laws.
How do I post a listing?
We will ask you a series of questions about the property you wish to list.
These questions may seem very specific, but it is to help students select
the features they want and to allow them to easily find your property.
Why do I need an account?
Every listing you post requires information about how to contact you if a
student is interested in renting. To save you from having to enter
this information for each listing, we use an account-based system
that stores this information.
Once you have an account, you can come back at any time and change your
listings, add more listings, or remove listings. If you rent out the
same properties each year, you can store them in the system and make them
available again next year, all with a click of the button.
What are the advantages?
This system is advertised all over campus, and each year this web site
receives thousands of visitors looking for rental properties. Unlike
a newspaper or bulletin board posting, you can update the information
stored in the system at any time, and the changes take affect immediately.
The students and staff at Rensselaer use the internet extensively, and it
is therefore the best way to reach them.
What are my responsibilities?
We expect that all landlords will adhere to the Equal Housing Opportunity
guidelines which state that you must rent without "any preference,
limitation, or discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex,
handicap, familial status, or national origin, or intention to make such
preference, limitation or discrimination." For more information,
please read the disclaimer.
We also expect that landlords will visit the site frequently enough to
indicate when properties are no longer available, and to maintain accurate
information.
Where do I go now?
From here, you can either sign in or create a new account. For more
assistance, please see those links above.
